Shemuel Katz, painter, illustrator, caricaturist, brings  through his drawings a personal story symbolizing a chapter in our history, a saga of survival through transit camps and the illegal immigration, haapala, towards the land of Israel. His sketches recorded the dramatic events revealing everyday life as seen trough the eyes of the young artist. The optimistic and even humorous approach makes the viewer experience, identify oneself and wonder about existential universal issues, history becomes relevant and actual to present times.
