“Israeli Summer” 1.7.06-30.8.06 Curators: Raya Cheine Eti Tchechover
32 artists of Kfar Vradim present paintings and ceramic sculpture, graphic artworks. The festive Opening of the exhibition was held on July 1st, with musical pieces, summer songs, blessings by the Head of the Local Council and by the artists and accompanied by refreshments, watermelon, cheese, wine and good spirits. |

There’s Nothing More Israeli that an Israeli Summer Written by Oded Brandt
It’s a heat wave, cracked earth, the color yellow and the thistles, and no less, the splendid blue of the sea and the sky, and the sweet red of watermelon. It is an almost impossible combination of contrasts and opposites in which the tension between them is created against the background of the oppressive heat. Some accuse the heat of creating tensions, irritability, impatience and the inability to give encouragement without envy, which all characterizes us so well… Summer for me can't be Israeli without an Israeli song… so while contemplating a painting, (Natan Yonatan, Sasha Argov, Chava Alberstein) "A land whose clods of earth are sweetened And her shores are as salty as weeping That her lovers gave her All that they could give"… |
